Where Is Our Pride?

Published by boringlarry at 11:55 pm under Current Events Edit This

So, as i watch the news on television this evening, i see video of people desperately trying to do anything they can to save themselves and their property from the record breaking floods traveling down the Mississippi river, and i can’t help but wonder WHY ISN”T THERE ANYONE IN UNIFORM HELPING!!!!!!!!

Where is the National Guard?…oh yea, i forgot, they seem to be occupied overseas for some maniacal reason…

Where is the National call for HELP????, or, ARE WE TO BUSY TO HELP THOSE IN NEED IN OUR OWN COUNTRY???????

Why isn’t there any public outcry to go help those stricken from this massive wall of water??

Where is FEMA, orchestrating the massive relief effort to save crumbling levees and protect peoples’ property from further destruction??

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE PRIDE THAT BUILT THIS COUNTRY?

I assume you refer to the Iraq war when you state “they seem occupied oversees [sic] for some maniacal reason…” Certainly you don’t proclaim the Iraq war to be the reason. If so, then please explain the nations ability to respond after Katrina. And you do know National Guard is still stationed in New Orleans, correct?

Don’t you notice a difference in the media coverage of this flood vs. the media coverage of Katrina. Why do you think this difference exists?

i refer to anywhere the National Guard is besides on American Soil, and our Nations’ response to Katrina, was horrible, at best, in my opinion…The National Guard should be at home, helping here, not fight a “war” somewhere else; seems to me that should be the job of the Army, The Marine Corps, etc.

I see almost no difference in coverage, besides the fact that hurricanes always grab headlines.
    …and, i fixed my spelling error…sorry
